International federation being founded
The international federation of EMPOKERMENT® is born in Italy.
IFE - ETS will be the international federation of live EMPOKERMENT® competitions: it will write the parent rules and recognise the results. Today it is being founded in Italy; affiliation for clubs and federations from other countries will open after the founding.
Why it is born
A discipline needs someone to represent it.
EMPOKERMENT® is the sporting variant of Texas Hold'em in which the decision counts, not luck. For it to become a sport, it needs a body that writes its rules, organises official competitions and recognises their results. Without that body, "official" is just a word on a screen.
Live competitions
Live championships, Italian and international, and a roll of honour that records the recognised results.
Recognition
The Federation intends to apply to CONI, the Italian Olympic Committee, for EMPOKERMENT® to be recognised as an Associated Sports Discipline.
One federation, two levels
Born in Italy, growing worldwide.
IFE - ETS is the international federation of EMPOKERMENT® and, in Italy, also the national federation. It writes the parent rules for everyone; each country, once affiliated, will manage its own members and championships according to those rules.
International level
The parent rules and directives for every country, the affiliation of clubs and federations from other countries, international competitions.
Italian national level
The affiliation of Italian clubs, player membership and the Italian championship, according to the parent directives.

The discipline
No more bad beats. Being ahead pays.
When the chips go all-in before the river, poker lets luck decide. EMPOKERMENT® does not: the pot is awarded in two stages, and a share goes at once to whoever shows the best hand at the moment the decision was made. The rest is played out on the cards, as always.

The variant comes from years of study on how much of poker is skill: the research is published on Skill Poker Index and on Zenodo. The discipline is learned and trained with the app of EMPOKERMENT®.
What the Federation will do
The foundations of the discipline.
Developing the discipline
Developing, organising and governing EMPOKERMENT® in all its forms, in Italy and abroad, in compliance with the law.
Absolute ban on gambling
No gambling of any kind, in any form or under any name.
Training
Training coaches, officers and dealers, with the Social Enterprise Model, and EMPOKERMENT® as a path of empowerment for those who practise it.
Live competitions and membership
Once the Federation is established, the membership card will give access to live competitions. The app will not be needed to compete live: it remains the tool to learn and train the discipline.
Your country
Your country will join through affiliation.
Clubs and federations from other countries will be able to affiliate to IFE - ETS after the founding, and will manage their own members and championships according to the parent rules. Meanwhile, you can learn about the discipline and follow the project on empokerment.com, in your language.
